I'm excited to share 'Perspectives On Tradition' , a collaborative record with Stick in the Wheel that I've contributed to alongside Nabihah Iqbal and Olugbenga. The band invited us to explore what traditional culture and music is to us and explore the vast folk library and music archive of London's Cecil Sharp House.
For my contributions I focused on exploring recordings from Leicestershire folk clubs and folklore, the tradition of re-imagining songs from the past and its similarities to sampling and the value of timeless messages (one song dates back to the late 1600s!).
The record is out now to stream and buy digitally, on tape, cd and with a zine.
