This past weekend I joined Addison Groove and the Barrel Room crew for a takeover on Bristol’s SWU FM. Listen back below and on the Rinse FM app!
My December Subtle Radio show with special guest Submerse is available to listen back.
Submerse came through with a selection of his new and unreleased productions and we also had a quick chat about the Tokyo jungle and footwork scenes, exploring different genres and what he has coming up in 2025!
My November Subtle Radio show is available to listen back below! This month’s show features over 40 tracks across 140, footwork, jungle, liquid and more including lots of forthcoming and unreleased music!
I’m stoked to share my new monthly radio show on Subtle Radio! The first show is available to listen back to below and I’ll be back every first Saturday of the month 17:00 - 18:00 UK time.
I recently recorded a guest mix for Ashes57’s Teklife label radio show on Kiosk Radio in Beligum.
I wanted my mix to reflect a mixture of new footwork/juke I’m feeling at the moment, some of my go to favourites, plus some of the tracks that made me fall in love with the sound:
My good friend Danny Scrilla invited me to join him on his Subtle FM show this month and we both decided to play 100% production mixes.
It’s the first time I’ve put together a mix purely of productions I’ve worked on and I really enjoyed the process! I revisited some of my solo and collaborative tracks, dug out some unreleased bits and included a few forthcoming tracks for a sneak peek into the future too!
Over the past 4 years or so I’ve been working on an orchestral piece with composer Dr Elizabeth Kelly for Leicestershire Music that has turntablists as featured musicians, and it had its debut performance at Demontfort Hall in Leicester on Tuesday earlier this week as part of the Out Of This World concert!
‘Space Scratch Symphony’ featured over 400 primary and secondary school students, including 6 young turntablists and is a 20 minute narrative piece that follows a group of astronauts on an adventure to space. The piece was complimented by some amazing visuals created by degree students from Leicester College‘s Immersive Academy course.
It’s been such a wonderful project to be involved in - Leicestershire Music have been teaching scratching as an alternative instrument in schools for many years now and to have a cross genre project with other ensembles in the area has been a truly amazing achievement. Seeing the young turntablists so excited about performing in the venue and the buzz and sense of achievement that was shining from them afterwards was wonderful.
Thank you to everyone involved - there’s way too many of you to list and I’m bound to miss someone out - but in particular all the musicians, all the team at Leicestershire Music, Brad Smith for bringing everything together, Mike Shaw for conducting, Tim Clay for being an actual super hero, Simon, Nicki and Emma for their work with their choirs, all the Leicester College students, and DJ Angelo & Algoriddim for being so supportive with their tech!
